As a liaison between the Strategic Council and the Small Firm Exchange (SFx), I am excited by the following information.
The SFx board met with leadership during the March Leadership Assembly Calls. One question we has was what percentage of Strategic Councilors we from small firms. So, at the most recent gathering of the Strategic Council, we polled the group (most, but not all were in attendance, but we are working to get more accurate information!) and discovered that roughly 40% or so of the Strategic Council is made up of AIA members from small firms (<10 people)!
The results of the poll are the following:
- 41% are in small firms (1-9 people)
- 32% are in medium firms (10-49 people)
- 27% are in large firms. (50 and over)
We know that 70% or more of the firms in the US are small firms and SFx works hard to ensure representation. It is good to know that small firms are represented in a significant number on the Council! There also appears to be a good distribution of representation from all firm sizes.
