We have our firms (LLCs) registered in the state of our residence where the business was formed. But did anyone have to also register your business in other states as a "foreign entity" where you are doing business? For context, I am a resident of VA, and have my LLC registered in VA. I am trying to figure out if I also need to register my firm with MD and DC as a foreign entity, since I provide services in those neighboring states.
Online literature and state boards seem to indicate, "yes", but I have yet to find someone who is doing this. Hoping this group has someone with that experience.
