The AIA Small Firm Exchange (SFx) is pleased to outline our focus and priorities for this year. Representing the majority of architectural practices across the country, SFx continues to elevate the voices, challenges, and leadership of small firms within the Institute.
In 2026, our theme-Practice with Purpose-asks us to look closely at why we practice and how we align our values with the way we lead, structure, and sustain our firms. Small practice is where innovation begins, where community connection is strongest, and where the pressures of practice are most deeply felt. This year's theme reflects a commitment to supporting small firm leaders through intention, resilience, and shared knowledge.
