I want to share this article with the IDKC and SFx communities: "Anchored in Light: A New Home for a West Texas Church", by Audrey Maxwell, AIA, published in Texas Architect Magazine. It tells the story of a congregation's long process of a congregation taking a leap of faith to relocate, built temporary facilities, then ultimately decide to invest in their long-term home. Designed by Rhotenberry Wellen Architects, the sanctuary is a simple form beautifully detailed and using light as a predominant design tool.
This project also is in keeping with IDKC's theme this year of new design; I also find it inspiring that this project shows how a faith community may be ever evolving its facilities to meet their ministry needs.
Please feel free to post comments on what you think after reading the article.
