Thanks for posting this Sarah! I'll definitely be there, and I'll be sure to pass this link on to my network. This is an awesome opportunity! As someone who's been to 3 national conferences, I can't speak highly enough of the event. I'll definitely be attending the happy hour at a minimum. :)

As one of the local DC folks, I would be happy to provide recommendations for anything--places to stay, cool buildings to visit, locations to hang out, restaurants, etc--and be a point of connection for anyone who is coming to town. Please reach out. Pride in DC is truly a marvelous time, so come join the fun!

So excited to be part of the AIA '24 session (Collision of Firm Practice and Queer Advocacy)! Was wondering if AIA will be marching in the Pride parade this year. Would love to see if we can make it happen somehow... I've been part of the AIA Chicago LGBTQIA+ Alliance co-chair and have marched in our local Chicago Pride for the past few years.

    Hey all,

I figured this thread would be the best place to ask this question:
I finally got my office to make a decision on how I should register and completed my registration today.  Unfortunately (or maybe I should say it was a pleasant surprise), it looks like the LGBTQ+ Happy Hour is sold out.  Does anyone know if there is a possibility that more spaces will be added?

I would echo your question, Spencer as we have not booked our conference yet either as we are confirming attendees still. Hoping there is additional space that opens up as well!

    Hey Hao, Spencer, and Scott!

    A few quick updates..

    1. Build Out Alliance IS marching in the parade on Saturday. Jordan Blacker is the go to person and hopefully will have some information SOON! As soon as more is known, definitely will share on that front. I also believe a collective location for anyone interested in meeting up after the symposium ends on Saturday is in the works. Stay tuned for more on Saturday happenings should anyone be interested in joining.
    2. For the Wednesday reception, @Michael Skiados is looking into if that can be opened back up. More on an update from Mike to come!
    3. And just as a note for Pride Week happenings beyond the AIA, BuildOut DC is working to organize a mixer/happy hour for Thursday after the firm tours end. @Jordan Blacker AIA and team are still in the works on finalizing details but believe at least initial information and registration is now live!
