The Call for Proposals for the 2026 Spring Conference is still open for today!

This year's theme is: Shaping Place
Be part of this global conference focusing on how architects apply culture, experience, and nature-based sustainability to deliver meaningful, high-performing places for local communities.
Shaping Place is a virtual architecture conference looking at how architects translate global insights into locally grounded, culturally responsive, and environmentally responsible design. For instance, as climate pressures grow and communities face increasing demands for healthcare, housing, and civic infrastructure, architects are increasingly called to integrate nature-based solutions-such as passive design strategies, landscape-driven systems, material stewardship, and regenerative approaches-into the everyday practice of architecture.
Through built case studies, applied research, and leadership perspectives, the conference examines how architects shape places that support human wellbeing, respect cultural context, and work in alignment with natural systems. Sessions will emphasize measurable outcomes, user experience, and long-term performance, positioning sustainability and culture not as abstract ideals, but as core responsibilities of architectural practice.
Suggested topics include:
- Culture & Nature (work that reflects cultural identity while enhancing wellbeing, user experience and connection to nature)
- From Insight to Impact (how to successfully apply research and sustainability frameworks in different parts of the world)
- Technology & Measurable Outcomes (digital tools to support and measure the impact of sustainable design)
- Leadership & Policy (how architects can lead through advocacy, policy engagement and collaboration)
- and more.
We look forward to a worldwide discussion on how architects respond to major global insights and shape local environments!

We are once again opening the floor to YOU, our membership, to ensure diverse voices and ideas are represented. We want to hear how you engage with this year's theme and the insights, projects, and expertise you want to share with our global audience!
Call for proposals opens: Wednesday, 17 December 2025
EXTENDED Deadline: Thursday 22 January 2026, at 5pm (Eastern US Time)
Notification of acceptance: Late January 2026.
The conference organizing committee will review all submissions and make the final selection.

Conference Timing
The 2025 Spring Conference will be held online between Thursday 19 March and Saturday 21 March 2026.
Presentations should be 50 minutes long, including time allocated for audience Q&A, delivered online via Zoom.
We will make every effort to schedule your talk to suit your timezone.
