Michael -
Thank you for taking time to addressing one of the biggest challenges facing us as practitioners. In every other other segment of our business there is some level of redundancy and competition with the exception of the necessary tool we use to prepare our 'instruments of service.'
On a related subject, our firm is completing our first year of a national client-directed Revit implementation. Autocad very astutely approached the retailer with the idea of implementing the program from the top down. While the program is extremely powerful, we are discovering the amount of effort that goes into communicating information for permit and construction with Revit compared to that of 2D AutoCad is increased exponentially while the client's perceived value for the service provided has not. Nor really has the end result at least for the scale project for which it is being utilized.
