    I suggest you contact the Investigative Engineers Association.  They are a national organization of engineers specializing in investigation of insurance claims.  Member firms are all over the country, commonly have extensive fire investigation experience and represent owners and third parties as well as insurance companies.  they will put you in touch with a firm in your area.

    I do that.  I am currently working for an Owner investigating fire damage to a structure after the insurance company did not make an offer of claims payout that was satisfactory to the Owner.

    I do various other types of forensic architectural investigations as well.
