If the administration's proposal for a return to previous tax policy before Federal tax-cutting mania took hold - with predictable results - anybody who uses Congressional office as a stepping stone to a lucrative private industry job, regardless of political affiliation, would be paying substantially more taxes anyway, obviating the need for selective punitive treatment - which would probably be unconstitutional in any case.
I think we need to do more than snipe quaintly from the sidelines in this forum, and stick to real practice management issues, which, it seems to me, have little to do with general tax policy at any level of government. To the extent that we wish to understand and influence codes that DO uniquely influence daily architectural practice, this forum is entirely appropriate.
