I agree that Zweig White is a good reference but would also recommend PSMJ as a resource.
One writer as a part of this string suggests that accounting software can dictate overhead rates ... or multipliers? Can you explain that more? I guess I am not sure how the software has the ability to affect those rates.
I can say that we made an effort to follow the industry averages a few years back in terms of annual budgeting and establishing revenue generation goals and have found that process to be successful. Obviously there are many ways to skin a cat but if you follow some of those industry averages I think you will find things work out well.

I agree, Wintner's book is excellent. In Chapter 11, he accurately describes my struggle forcing Qbooks into a project-based service industry. Is there a better option out there for a 3 person firm?
