Payment for architectural services as they are delivered should be addressed in the agreement. It is as basic as the GC drawing periodic payments for completed work less retainage. The architect should not be expected to finance delivery of services any more than the contractor should be expected to finance delivery of construction services beyond a 30 to 60 day period.
