Regarding the compensation survey and a selling of information back I offer the following. Having participated in the survey, being a small firm of 10 or so in a rural area, I feel the representation is fairly good. I would agree it seems to have averaged on the high side, or our salaries in our firm are not up to par. Probably both.
The survey is available per the earlier post by Jennifer Riskus from AIA digitally. The "purchasable version" I expect is the formal bound fully loaded version. I have reviewed the document and found it to be very informative and useful in assessing the appropriate relative salaries for various folks in the firm and relative to the median salaries in our region.
