Located on the outskirts of the thriving Brewery District, a once abandoned warehouse is undergoing a major transformation to become the new home of WSA Studio. Formerly home to The Columbus Jack Company, the architectural style of the warehouse and centralized location within the city were key factors that interested the firm while on their search for a new place to call home. Built in the early 1900’s, “The Jack,” is tucked away in the heart of the Brewery District and offers its new tenants a unique structure filled with heavy timber ceilings, aged and distressed brick walls, industrial windows, raw concrete floors, a dramatic elevator shaftway, private parking and a roof terrace. The firm’s decision to salvage an aging building highlights their commitment to practicing local sustainability and an investment in rehabilitating this mixed-use development in downtown Columbus. The Jack allows the studio to become “in touch” with the neighborhood, the adjacent small businesses, condominiums, restaurants and parks. The plan for the renovation represents WSA Studio’s direct attempt at changing the way we work and live by blending workplace and residential settings. #InteriorArchitectureKnowledgeCommunity
