I am an architect and researcher engaged in re-imagining practices around housing resilience and sustainability, particularly in coastal areas. Currently, I work as a Research Assistant at FIBER (Florida Institute for Built Environment Resilience). During my years practicing in Louisiana, I worked on a wide range of projects, from nature refuge centers to bars, and churches. With a Master of Architecture from Louisiana State University (LSU) and a dual Bachelor's degree in Visual Arts and Education from the University of the State of Rio de Janeiro (UERJ, Brazil), I concocted a unique blend of professional experience, coastal research, and pedagogical practice. My current doctoral research is part of a HUD grant that explores the intersection between government control levers and the development of resilient affordable housing. This research is the fruit of my passion for creating sustainable and equitable design solutions, particularly in vulnerable coastal regions.
