The Inflation Reduction Act has allocated $350 million to the US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) for programs to "Reduce Embodied Greenhouse Gas Emissions Associated with Construction Materials and Products." This is a once in a lifetime opportunity to support low GHG emission building products' development and expansion.

A Request for Information (RFI) from the EPA, as part of the public engagement to shape these programs, is open until Monday, May 1, 2023. Action is needed from you to capitalize on this historic opportunity.

A full description of the Request for Information with background and the list of 32 questions can be found on this page.

It is not necessary to answer all 32 questions; you or your organization can answer as few or as many as desired. In the spirit of the most effective means to reduce embodied GHG emissions and equity in the use of these program funds, please consider answering in particular:

Questions 2 and 17 (Minimally Processed, Salvaged and Reused Materials; Unique Approaches for Salvage and Reuse)

Question 9 (Whole Building Life Cycle Assessment)

Question 20 (Fair, Equitable Distribution of Resources)
