Hello, all:
I'm working with the AIA Kansas City COTE and the AIA St. Louis COTE on a roadmap for improving awards pathways at the local level ...
These two chapters are keen to learn from components (and COTE groups) who have adapted their awards programs ....
And especiall those who have taken steps toward:
- increased use of the Framework
- use of the Common App (in full or in part or in adapted ways)
- implementation of tech reviews
- inclusion of requirements relating to the AIA 2030 Commitment
- and other things we may not be thinking of
We would love to learn from any chapter who has had success on these paths (and we know that some 30 of you are using the Common App in some form!) ... we are particularly interested in chapters that are not in the biggest cities, whose member profile may be more like ours. That said, I thnk the desire to help make these programs more reflective of the Framework and Institute goals AND also supportive and inclusive of members at all stages of development is common among many chapters.
We would welcome any docs (PPT, text, ouline) that outlines of your program / process ... or anything else you can share.
You can share those in this thread or email me directly: kiragould@kiragould.com.
I will share these with the working group, which includes Lucy Williams, Monica Moore-Zigo, Ralph Bicknese, Jeremy Knoll, Jeremy Nelson, Anthony Brower, and Mary Ann Lazarus. (So if you know those folks, you can feel free to engage with them, too.)
Thank you!
