Description:
This presentation explores the integration of architectural design, conceptual cost and energy modeling, and efficient mechanical engineering systems to reduce initial and long-term energy costs. The program will focus on Kaiser Permanente's first all-electric medical office building, located in Santa Rosa, California. The three-story, 87,000-square-foot building represents a design solution that eliminates natural gas from the project, reducing the first cost of mechanical systems and utilities by over $1 million. This low-energy, all electric building has been measured and verified Net Zero Energy and Net Zero Carbon operation. Attendees will receive building performance data, review the design process, obtain lessons learned, and explore applications for other projects.
