Brad,
I am very interested in the update you are producing. Several years ago I was performing research on DfD, but had to let it fall off due to lack of interest and a need to support my family. I still think this is the way to go with certain building types. It is just slow to catch on in the US. Dave Bennink with the Building Deconstruction Institute likely has the best systems set up so far for deconstructing existing buildings. Having deconstructed a lot of buildings which were not meant to be deconstructed, He is also a proponent of designing them so they are easier to take apart.
Regards,
Paul

Subject: Design for Deconstruction guide update
Hello those interested in circular building,
We are updating a guide by this author from 2006 on "Design for Disassembly in the built environment" published on-line by King County, WA. A lot of articles, toolkits, guides, and papers have been produced since then, however we are uncertain about the uptake of design for deconstruction over the past 20 years. If anyone has had an experience with a conscious effort to design a commercial building for future deconstruction, we would appreciate hearing from you if willing to spend a few minutes talking about it - and how this updated guide might meet needs you perceive to facilitate the process. Thank you !
