Small Project Design

I am looking for to set up commuter benefits and possibly also a flexibly spending account for our staff of seven. We use QuickBooks online for accounting and payroll and I would like this additional benefit to seamlessly synch with QB.

Have you checked in with the City of New York Department of Consumer Affairs? They are trying to get people back into the city to work and may have options for various commuter benefits programs. The pre-tax amount will have to be deducted out of your staff's pay. When I commuted years ago this was a lifesaver in commuting costs. The fact that it was pre-taxed helped also.

Hi Esther, 
When I was running my firm in Portland a few years back we got transit cards for each person of the firm that were set to autofill using our company credit card (thus the expense was automatically linked to our Quickbooks Online). Of course this becomes more complicated now that a lot of public transit systems are scanning phones with apple/google pay, so you will have to check if there is a way in NYC for the scan to use the company card vs a personal payment account.
