Hello all! I am writing to you from swealtering Chicago which has not hit 90 yet but will later today and will stay in the 90s all week this week. As much as I dislike the heat this is perfect timing to remind you about our upcoming webinar on AIAU! Please join us at 2pm EST on Tuesday July 14th for the live course to discuss architecture's critical role in keeping communities safe and well during periods of extreme heat and in climate events that cause power outages and disruptions in utility service.

Nate Kipnis, FAIA from RADR will be moderating the discussion and Q&A after the presentation and we will get into all the ways people kept cool (and stayed warm) before electric AC and ducted gas furnaces. We will explain some of the building science that relates to our experience of heat and how heat transfer occurs and we will get into our current high performance building systems and how they can best combine with passive strategies to increase and extend our buildings' performance.
