"Design is where art and science break even" stated the slide of architect Fawad Abasi, Pakistan presented to an audience of international architects who had come together in Colombo, Sri Lanka's capital, for a conference titled "The Art within Architecture". While the origin of this statement is dubious, the phrase accurately reflects the sentiment of many architects who possibly, more than most people, oscillate between their two sides of the brain, known as the "scientific" one processing information sequentially and the "artistic" one processing information holistically.
