Simulation-based design is reshaping architectural practice. It gives architects new ways to use data to guide building performance, from early design choices through late-stage verification and code compliance. This session will demonstrate how simulation inputs influence design assumptions, how workflows can align with evolving code requirements across design stages, and how architects can move beyond numerical outputs toward actionable insights that improve design quality, sustainability, occupant comfort, and innovation. When integrated into practice, simulation transforms performance analysis from a compliance task into a driver of design excellence. This session is presented in collaboration with panelists from AIA BPKC and IBPSA.
