    By 7/23 - Ask Congress to prevent the biggest change to historic preservation regulations in decades

    • Late on Friday, July 17, the Advisory Council on Historic Preservation (ACHP) circulated a near-complete draft of a sweeping rewrite of the regulations implementing Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act (36 C.F.R. Part 800) to Council members and requested a vote by this Friday. These regulations govern how federal agencies consider impacts to historic properties during project planning and delivery.

    DOE RFI – Cost-Effectiveness of Building Energy Codes

    • The Department of Energy has requested input on its methodology for assessing consumer impacts associated with residential and commercial building energy codes
      • By 7/30 – provide feedback to AIA
        • AIA chapters and members are invited to respond to 12 specific questions within the DOE RFI here. AIA national will compile comments from members and submit a formal response. Members must complete the survey no later than July 30 to be included.

      • By 8/3 – submit individual comments
        • Members may also submit individual comments directly to DOE here >. Any individual comments must be submitted by Aug 3.
