Healthcare Reform and Implications for Facility Planning

Guest Presenters: Dave Ennis, Senior Vice President, Kauffman Hall & Zac Hafner, Vice President Kauffman Hall

The healthcare provider industry is on the cusp of a new business model in which success is achieved not solely through volume generation, but rather through achievement of successful patient outcomes related to quality and cost management across the full continuum of care.  Success requirements for this new business model will include the highest levels of hospital/physician integration, sophisticated information technology, efficient use of capital, aggressive cost management, the ability to direct patients to the lowest possible cost setting consistent with quality and patient care best practices.  The implications for facility planning are significant, and will be discussed in detail throughout this session.
