ICU bed ratio to med surg beds

    I am looking for ICU benchmarks, that discuss the ideal number of ICU's per Med/Surg bed. I know what the current "actual" ratio in the US is, but if you had any sources that spell out the ideal based upon various variables and could point me in that direction I would appreciate it.
