The AIA Academy of Architecture for Health Research Committee distributed questionnaires for healthcare architects and designers at two gatherings in the past year. One was the AAH/ACHA Summer Leadership Summit and the other was the Southern Healthcare Design Conference. At these meetings, paper questionnaires were distributed to attendees and gathered at the end of the meeting. Participants were asked to look at the possible proposed research and rate the priority level they give a specific topic.
A list of 16 possible topics was given. These fell into the categories of:
1.) patient experience and recovery outcomes,
2.) patient or staff safety outcomes,
3.) staff effectiveness outcomes,
4.) return-on-investment outcomes.

We welcome further input and would like to hear what you think are the most important topics for investigation.
