The question brings to mind my favorite definition of a "weed": A plant that is growing somewhere that you don't want it to grow". Beauty truly is in the eye of the beholder and encompasses more than the most obvious aesthetics: appropriate environment, composition, surrounding plantings, etc. An appropriate, well designed landscape can be equally beautiful using native or non-native plants.
