Monica,
I have made a similar pursuit recently as well, and found no good resource.
It seems the best information may be available from the State Historic Preservation Offices, in each state. In Pennsylvania we had a symposium last year that brought together preservation and green building professionals, and it was very well done.
I think a project to put together such a database would be invaluable in helping to overcome the perception in both groups that there are irreconciable conflicts between the goals of preservation and those of sustainability - which is just not the case.
Many in the preservation community worry about solar panels being visibly perched on roofs of our monuments, and green building designers assume they need to replace windows and use toxic materials like paint remover, leading to indoor air problems.
I think that with an intelligent team approach, all of these objectives can be achieved with little conflict.
Well, this response is longer than the simple answer you are expecting. Unfortunately I think the simple answer is no, there is no such database.
Thanks
