Hello! Is anyone up there (in Washington, D.C.) paying attention?
Mr. Wills, as an AIA "code advocate", I'd expect that you'd list sections of the IGCC - indicating what architects should expect upon its passage...sending someone to a list of proposed changes (to version 2) is totally abrogating the AIA's role in advocating for its members...the IGCC has tremendous impact on each practitioner - and I've yet to see (from the AIA) an abbreviated listing of sections and inclusions, with AIA-commentary specifically addressing relative impacts on insurance, liability, and bottom line (fees)...
The AIA-offered listing should have started with version 1 - with modifications as-approved for version 2...if you'd like to review my previous blog postings on AIA Knowledge Net, I've provided much of the information; however, the AIA still needs to weigh-in formally with its opinions and recommendations (as I've stated above)...
Why hasn't this happened yet?
