To be held from Noon to 1:30pm at the AIA Arizona downtown Phoenix, at 30 North 3rd Avenue Ste 200

    Wednesday, MARCH 23rd

" An Afternoon at the Energy Modeling Improv"

    lunch #4

This popular program has been recently given at the 2010 GreenBuild and other AIA Chapters across

the country. It is a lively and interactive demonstration of how architects can integrate energy modeling

into their design process to inform their schematic phase design decisions. The architect and engineer

presenters divide the audience into competitive teams and engage them as participants in the design

process, demonstrating how software can influence building geometry, orientation, daylighting,

insulation, glazing, etc. and lay the foundation for truly low energy intensity, high performance green

buildings. The winning team will almost certainly conclude the session with a design that exceeds

today's codes by at least 20 percent before ever modifying any of the mechanical systems.
