Autodesk has brought out a product called Building Design Suite which has bundled multiple software programs.  Different versions of Architecture, MEP, Struct whether Revit or AutoCAD.  This is a nice option for organizations that need it.

The concern I have is the rumor that companies will be pushed/required to buy the suite option vs individual packages.  No longer will a small architect or engineering firm be able to just by the Arch software or Structure or MEP.   As an architect working in a modest size office that hires consultants for structural and MEP, I neither need or want additional software that I would never use.

If this change is brought to bear, it will mean a significant cost increase.  The subscriptions will also have to be paid, and I expect subscriptions will rise with inflation or faster.

I would suggest contacting Autodesk and indicating your preference.  This is not a reseller policy this is coming down from Autodesk.  Your reseller may be able to point you to the appropriate contact at Autodesk.
