This article is bad news. What is it about the media that they always focus on negativity. Best thing is to write her and tell her what a bad idea it is. I did. You can reach her at https://myaccount.nytimes.com/membercenter/emailus.html

You must be kidding?  The AIA is supporting this article?  Just what we need: more negative press about architects.  I work damn hard with my residential clients.  It takes much more time on my part than a commercial project.  Sure, some clients are more difficult, but our job is to educate them to see the value of what we do. I evaluate my potential clients during our first couple of meetings to see if they are really the type that want and can use an architect.  Let's face it, some people just want a house and not a custom home specifically designed for them.  For those that just want a house, I recommend that they look at some home magazines and buy a set of prints.
I can't see any good coming out of this artic.e.  How about focusing on the positive?
