RE: CADD Programs - Vectorworks

I have a 1-2 person office that does mostly, but not exclusively, residential projects. I have been using Vectorworks Architect & Renderworks (and before that MiniCad) for 12 years. The program works well for me, a Mac user, but I only use 20% of the programs full potential. As with any program good training is important. On line demos help but I suggest attending Vectorworks provided sessions at early as possible to get a wide range of exposure to the programs full array of tools. I have not used the BIM based capabilities enough to give you any info on that portion of the program, but I know that the latest version has that capability.

Vectorworks also has several user groups and on web based tutors who provide tutorial for reasonable fees. And, compared to other software the price is reasonable.

Since I have never used other CADD programs, I can only say that Vectorworks has been a good tool for me and the way I produce drawings, but as I said I only regularly use a small portion of the programs full potential.

Does anyone have experience with VectorWorks Architect?
