  • 1.  Leed Certification for Single Family Homes

I have two single family residential home projects for which the owners have asked about being Leed certified.  As a small practice,I don't feel I have the resources to provide this service in house.  Are there any experienced consultants out there who can deal with the paperwork, consult etc.  I am leed certified but dont feel I am familiar enough with the process to initiate it or estimate its cost.

    Thanks for any advice.

    Nikolai,
For LEED for Homes, a LEED for Homes Provider does all of the paperwork.  They essentially are the USGBC to you.  You need to contact the one closest to you.  You can find a list on the LEED Homes website.
    Hope this helps.

Because we Architects are absent from the vast majority of residential projects, LEED for Homes was designed to be led by the contractor and a LEED provider. We don't have the same role as we do in LEED for everything else. This is similar for EarthCraft and Energy Star certifications.
