Does anyone from the state of Florida know if you need an architect's seal or license to design a single family home?  I am licensed in NJ but have a friend who wants me to design their house but am not sure of the law in that state.  Does Florida accept "designers" for single family houses?

Generally, it is advised to check with the local building department and see their requirements for review of house plans. There you will also get the code requirements for the area. Then you may evaluate your own design and compare that with the code. Generally it depends on the design of the building and the materials application for housing. The size of the home, adjacencies and location (zoning) is also important. I believe this is part of the architects due diligence in evaluating the possability of producing a building project. Teaming with a local professional is also a value added solution.
