Can anyone pass along a good detail for insulating a radiant floor slab according to IECC 502? The application is for a Fire Station truck bay. I am concerned about insulating the edge of the slab at the overhead doors. I've seen a beveled design where the edge of the concrete slab covers the top of the edge face insulation but I'm not sure if that meets the R-15 requirement for the whole surface of the slab edge. I am also concerned that the weight of the vehicles will crush the concrete at the bevel.

This is yet another example of how theoretical improvements have unforeseen practical consequences.  I don't think a tapered edge is necessarily a problem.  I have used 8" slabs for fire stations to accept the point loads if they decide to jack the apparatus up.  What comes to mind is if the slab doesn't bear on the foundation walls you can run insulation as a joint separator between the slab edge and the foundation.  The slab should be tied to the foundation to try to keep the joint smooth.  Then use a large threshold to cover the insulation and the joint.
