I have used (and continue to use) the Squiggle program.  However, I have reverted to using the 5.0 version.  I'm not sure if any others have had this issue, but the 6.0 version does some wierd things with the scaling of the CAD file - and it's not uniform in the X and Y directions.  I have tried to correct the problem, but to no avail...

The 5.0 version works great and is very versatile.

Use SketchUp Google - it's free and will 'squiggle'/extend .dwg lines in 2D/3D drawings and may add color/bitmaps/gradients + shadows, if needed. Find utility to print to .pdf and that's all.
Sqiuggle cost 150 -180 and is reversable (you can go back to straight lines), but works on lines only.
Autodesk Impression costs 700. Yes, it's free w/ subsciption but AutoCad LT users typicaly do not pay subscription.

Try typing "napkin" in Autocad Architecture (it might work in plain AutoCAD too.) It does what squiggle does and you already have it. We use it all the time for preliminary elevations, then export to Photoshop for rendering.

I have been hand drawing plans for 35 years. I have 5 people like me in the office. I recently have outside people doing CAD is the client insists. I love drawing, thats why I became an architect. I even teach Drafting II at a private College her on the SF Peninsula. For examples of our hand renderings go to stewartassocaia.com and go to on the boards.

I did not know that Autocad had squiggle built in.  Its funny what we will do to make drawings look conceptual.  I can remember actually drawing sketches by hand. Recently while working on a complex sketchup model I was having difficulty with the overall view and resorted to a hand sketch.  After 3 quick overlays 15 min max (remember yellow trash) I had it down, scanned it and sent it off to explain the configuration.  As Architects we should be sketching.  The other day the design center asked to borrow sketch books to show to the explorer post, I was surprised to find that I did not have a sketch book, plenty of sketches but no sketchbook.  I used to have one so what happend?  Just saying-------------------------------------------
