    Jeffrey,

I may not be understanding exactly what you are trying to accomplish as I am not a MAC user.  I am a small office as well and print most of my drawings directly to a PDF file via Adobe Professional or Bluebeam software. Once you have the PDFs there are any number of ways to get it to clients. For larger files or multiple drawings I usually upload to DropBox and send clients a download link via email. Smaller files can be attached in the email.  I only have a small format scanner in the office so I send out when I have to scan large format original drawings.

    Regards,

I do what Michael Dolce does inb terms of saving as pdf's and either sending drawings via Dropbox, email or emailing to printer and having them printed and delivered.  I use a Mac in the office. One trick I use is that I do all my drawings at size 22x34, so therefore I can print them in-house for my own use at perfect half scale on 11x17 paper.

I'll add one more thing. Scanning documents is the least efficient method, especially with plan sheets. The files are usually too large to send via email. If you absolutely have to do that, (you have a lot of markups and/or hand drawings) you could just use a local reprographic company to scan them for you. It's your own cost analysis to do, but it would take a lot of volume to justify investing in a large format in-house scanning system. It's not just the cost of purchase, it's the total cost of ownership over time.

Like the others said, PDF is the way to go. Mac does this right out of the box.

At this point I would need more information to provide any more useful of an answer.
