I want to Thanks Rene Cardinaux AIA, and Sean Catherall AIA; for the comments to my NATURAL DISASTERS, subject.
They are right. People are reluctant to use other construction methods than the traditional, because they think can be more expensive.
Also recommend design by Code.
I will try to convince people to build safe, by offering options to their building needs, by giving two solutions, one traditional, and other using CRCM (concrete rib construction method).
Each with a cost study, regarding the shell, apples against apples.
Finishes out they depends of taste, money, background, etc.
But the shell (walls and roof), in each case can be so different concerning to cost, important to understand with the numbers, why CRCM using less time and unskilled labor produce low cost structures, plus provide big energy savings by the R56 minimum insulation factor of the shell.
Both solutions will be following the Construction Codes strongly, to maintain against forces of nature.
