AIA/AAH board nominations overview:
AIA/AAH board composition
The Academy of Architecture for Health is governed by a Board, typically totaling 9 members, who maintain or establish policies and procedures that govern the conduct of the Academy on behalf of its over 7,000 members.
Typically Board members are named to a 3-year term, with a typical maximum of 2 (two) 3-year terms. Exceptions to the aforementioned are made in the case of a Board member named as President-elect during a second term, in which total Board service may extend beyond 6 years.
AIA/AAH board nominations process
Early in each calendar year, the Immediate Past President, in consultation with the Executive Committee, will name a Nominating Committee comprised of the following:
The Nominating Committee will consider candidates for membership on the Board, including recommendations from the general membership, and will present a final list of recommendations to the full Board.
Candidates for Board membership should have demonstrated a commitment to the AAH over an extended period and should, desirably, have further demonstrated that commitment through leadership of a committee, task force, or other position.
The Board composition in any given timeframe should represent (or more desirably, enhance) the diversity of the overall AAH membership.
