It should establish the best practices for sustainable design and construction in steel, and it should showcase how steel can be an ideal sustainable material.

Sep 26, Deadline Public Comment ASCE-SEI 24 Flood Resistant Design and Construction

This standard provides minimum requirements for flood resistant design and construction of structures that are subject to building code requirements, or subject to floodplain management regulations or other requirements that cite this standard, and that are located, in whole or in part, in flood hazard areas. This standard applies to the following: (1) New construction, including subsequent work to such structures, and (2) work classified as substantial improvement of existing structures that are not historic structures.

Sep 27, Application deadline, $36 Million to Deliver Innovative Weatherization to Low-Income Households

DOE has announced that applications are open for the $36 million Enhancement & Innovation (E&I) competitive grant program from the Weatherization Assistance Program (WAP). This grant aims to expedite the nation’s shift to clean energy through demonstration projects. These projects will not only support low-income homes by making them safer and more comfortable, but they are also an opportunity to explore new weatherization techniques and technologies and showcase best practices that could be adopted across the country.
