Here's another way to TAKE ACTION to support healthy communities, clean energy, and thriving economies:
If you care about clean energy, it’s urgent you contact your senators. Trump’s Big Beautiful Budget will gut the clean energy economy and clean energy tax credit, while
adding $2.4 Trillion to the deficit. Over the past three years, companies have announced plans to invest more than $843 billion in clean energy projects, driven by tax credits from the Inflation Reduction Act. The budget being considered by the Senate will eliminate those tax credits. Please call and email your senators as soon as possible. Ask your friends and family to do the same.
Before you contact your Senators, you can learn more
here about how this tax bill impacts the clean energy sector overall. You can learn more
here on how the tax bill negatively impacts clean energy in your state.
Talking Points - Below are some talking points, but
for your email and call to be effective, please use your own words.
- I am an architect and business owner based in <town and state>.
- I am extremely upset by the budget bill that is being considered in the Senate.
- It will increase the deficit. It is bad for business in <state> and it’s bad for housing.
- If you vote for this budget you will hurt my business.
- I am currently using these tax credits to support projects such as 150 units of new housing in Overland Park Kansas with solar and geothermal. <provide examples if you have them>
- Please do not eliminate the following tax credits –
- The 45Y, 48E Tax Credit makes clean energy projects feasible in our state.
- The 45L tax credit assisted with the construction of nearly 350,000 efficient new homes in 2024. These homes cut homeowner energy bills by about $450 per year, and by 2032 they will cut peak electric demand by 1,800 MW.
- The 25C tax credit helped 2.3 million American families improve their homes and reduce their monthly energy bills in 2023. Families are saving an average of $130 a year in energy costs. By 2032 we expect homeowners will use the credit to cut peak electric demand by 3,400 MW.
- The 25D tax credit helped families afford solar at their homes and cut energy costs.
- The Clean Vehicle Tax Credit (30D) lowers the price of electric vehicles that source battery components from the U.S. or our allies, including critical minerals.
- The Advanced Manufacturing Production Tax Credit (45X) supports U.S. clean energy supply chain components.
