As we roll toward 2018, I can say with confidence and gratitude that the Academy of Architecture for Health board is strong, and well-positioned to continue guiding the Academy forward. The Strategic Plan will be in its second year of implementation, building on the great progress made in 2017 toward a higher level of service to our members and to the greater healthcare design community. This is where I take my leave, after four years on the board, knowing that things are in good hands. I will miss the day-to-day interaction with my fine colleagues, but I won’t be a stranger; I still have a few projects I’ve promised to help with.
My duties in sponsorship and talent development will pass to 2018 Past President Tom Clark. He’s the guy to talk to if you are interested in getting involved with the Academy; you can reach him at aah@aia.org. What you get out of the Academy is directly proportional to your involvement. I have found the experience to be gratifying. Thank you for according me the honor of serving you.Sincerely,Joan Suchomel, AIA, ACHA, EDACAAH Past President
