IAKC February Letter from the co-chairs: Candice Rabovsky, AIA & Bob Dillon, AIA

It is our first IAKC newsletter of the year and we hope this finds you well. The start of this new year has been difficult and there is a lot to process as we navigate these challenging times. Our thoughts are with our colleagues who have been directly affected. We are grateful to each of you and the commitment we have collectively made to creating spaces that foster equity, safety, and community.

Last year, IAKC experienced great growth in the content we created, resources provided, and engagement fostered around interior architecture. We focused our efforts on a framework of education, engagement, and mentorship that we plan to continue into 2026. Looking ahead, we are excited to build upon that momentum with our inaugural season of the Interior Elevations mentorship program, educational opportunities both with AIAU as well as at the AIA26 conference in San Diego, expanding our partnership with local interior architecture groups, and connecting through our monthly Knowledge Sharing Salons. If you are interested in getting involved in any of these, please email interiors@aia.org to get more information. All are welcome!
Welcome to our two newest members of the IAKC leadership team, Kristina Jardis, AIA, and Maryam Laleh!

We look forward to the year ahead and the opportunity to support, connect, and elevate the interior architecture community.

Warm Regards,

2026 AIA IAKC Co-Chairs
