Nichole Sorhaindo, MPH, is AIA's Managing Director of EDI Strategies. In this essential role, Nichole spearheads AIA's equity, diversity, and inclusion (EDI) initiatives by developing, advising on, and executing EDI projects during the strategic design and implementation phases. She works closely with cross-functional teams to deliver impactful programming and resources, driving engagement among members, volunteers, and components. Nichole is an accomplished leader in equity, diversity, and inclusion (EDI) with over 13 years of experience spearheading initiatives that drive change. Formerly serving as the Senior Director of Planning and Integration for EDI at the American Psychological Association (APA), Nichole was instrumental in leading the strategic development, execution, and assessment of EDI models that aligned with the organization’s mission. Before her tenure at APA, Nichole played a pivotal role in federal health equity initiatives, offering her expertise as a senior advisor to several prominent institutions, including the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, and the National Institutes of Health (NIH). Her work across various sectors, including the Office of Women’s Health and multiple NIH institutes, reflects her deep commitment to addressing equity and her ability to navigate complex political landscapes. Nichole’s career is marked by her ability to collaborate with senior leaders and stakeholders to develop data-driven strategies that achieve meaningful and lasting change in diverse organizational settings.
