Gabriella Bermea, AIA, NOMA, NCARB, is a fifth-generation Tejana whose passion lies in serving her community and shaping educational environments. Raised along the Texas-Mexico border, Gabriella inherited a deep commitment to her city and a strong advocacy for public education, grounded in her Mexican American heritage and love for the communities that shaped her.
As a Senior Associate and Architect with Perkins Eastman DPC, with over eight years of experience, Gabriella specializes in educational and inclusive design, community building, and stakeholder engagement. Her work spans architecture, philanthropy, and advocacy, focusing on K-12 partnerships, developing emerging leaders, and crafting community-driven solutions. Gabriella is known for her ability to build strong client relationships and empower teams to reach their full potential.
Gabriella is also a sought-after author, speaker, and facilitator, creating content that highlights K-12 development, educational architecture, and expanding access to the STEM and AEC industries. Her dedication to social justice and community engagement drives her work, ensuring that underrepresented voices are heard and empowered.
Among her proudest achievements are her partnerships with local school districts to provide underrepresented students with access to architectural job shadowing and leading projects for clients across the nation totaling over 1.3 billion dollars and 3.2 million square feet.
Gabriella has been recognized by the American Institute of Architects, Building Design + Construction, the Austin Business Journal, and Austin Under 40 for her outstanding contributions to the STEM and AEC fields. She is the recipient of the 2024 AIA National Young Architect Award, was named in Building Design + Construction’s 2023 40 Under 40, and is a two-time finalist for Austin Under 40. In 2024, Gabriella was honored with the Austin Business Journal's Rising Star Award, highlighting her dedication to innovation and excellence in architecture and education.
When she’s not designing or mentoring, Gabriella enjoys serving on her local philanthropy board, writing, and spending quality time with her family and friends.
