Public Architects - Who We Are……

Our mission is to promote excellence in public architecture and enhance the role of the public architect as an essential element in the planning, design, construction, and management of public facilities.  As such, we strive to provide interesting and current programs with our annual pre-conference Public Architects Workshop and informative articles in our Cornerstone Website Newsletter.  Our members are located around the country, affiliated with various forums and agencies. We meet by teleconference every month. The Public Architects Knowledge Community (PAKC) welcomes all AIA and non-AIA members to join us in the effort to provide a forum for communication of interest based issues affecting public architecture by both public agency architects and private sector architects, who work in public architecture.

Ohio Qualified Based Selection Manual
A guide to selecting the highest qualified architecture/engineering firm. The most important element of any construction project is its design. The quality of design is the single most important factor in determining a project’s “life-cycle cost” — the initial cost of construction plus the long-term cost for operation and maintenance. Download Guide

Ohio Qualifications-Based Selection Facilitator
As the name implies, Qualifications-Based Selection, or QBS, is a process in which the project owner evaluates and ranks interested design professionals on the basis of their qualifications and experience. Download Guide
