This hands on investigation of the Octagon House will begin with a 90 minute lecture on historic building assessment best practices and a discussion of the history of the Octagon House, followed by team investigations of the building's site, exterior and interior finishes, structure and building systems to assess their material condition and historical integrity. Teams interact to draft findings and recommendations and make oral presentations to the property owner, ending with a short wrap-up and critique by session leaders. AIA HRC member, James J.
