Annual Update on Illinois Healthcare Facilities Regulations

When:  Oct 17, 2012 from 05:30 PM to 07:30 PM (CT)

Anyone who has done a healthcare project in the State of Illinois is no doubt familiar with the Illinois Department of Public Health and its role in enforcing standards for hospitals, ambulatory surgery and long-term care facilities. But are you familiar with the very latest in standards and requirements for designing, documenting and constructing a healthcare facility in Illinois and submitting it for review?

Henry Kowalenko, supervisor for IDPH's Division of Life Safety and Construction Section, outlines the most recent State of Illinois requirements. For the second part of this program, Enrique Unánue, AIA, ACHA, principal of Code Services, LLC and a member of the Facility Guidelines Institute, will discuss the review process for the proposed 2014 Edition of the Guidelines for Construction and Equipment of Hospital and Medical Facilities, as well as proposed changes to its format and requirements, and future changes now being considered for the 2018 Guidelines. The presentation will include a question-and-answer session with each speaker.

Due to the 75-person capacity of the meeting room, reservations are required.

Directions to the meeting room: enter Lurie Children's Hospital from the first-floor entrance on Chicago Avenue or through the second-floor bridge from Superior Street parking structure. Take Sky Lobby elevators to 11th floor and transfer to Tower elevators to 22nd floor.
