The AIA Academy of Architecture for Health is piloting a new, easy-to-participate program aimed at facilitating high level conversation amongst healthcare architects on a broad series of topics in design for healthcare.  This program, the AIA AAH Advanced Healthcare Roundtable, will commence on Friday, January 28 at 1:30PM US Eastern Time on the topic of Surgery Department Design – the Layout Relative to Infection Control Goals.  Participants of the program will learn about the identification of potential infection control issues; design solutions for infection control; infection control risk assessment; and the responsibilities of the parties involved in the construction of the project in relation to infection control.

The format for the roundtable will be a one hour conference call facilitated by WebEx images, wherein we have 3 subject matter experts and a moderator leading a discussion of this singular topic. Our topical experts will not be presenting so much as offering insight during the discussion. There will be no presentations per se by the experts or participants, only some graphics that may tee up a discussion.
